Sanchez (left) hopes to turn the tables in the rematch on Reyes (right).
This rematch will take place at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and will be televised on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights.
Their first meeting in June of 2010 was a Fight of the Year candidate on the Southern California club circuit for its competitive consistency as well as its finish. Reyes won by split decision when scorecards of 58-56 and 59-55 in favor of the Colton, Calif., product offset a 58-56 tally in Sanchez' favor.
The 21-year-old Sanchez, who trains out of the JL Tepito Gym under the tutelage of Jesse Lopez, has since gone unbeaten in five bouts, the last being a lopsided decision over Alberto Herrera in Woodland last December. Sanchez was also Antonio DeMarco's main sparring partner for the WBC lightweight champion's landmark win over Jorge Linares.
Reyes, a 25-year-old who hones his craft at Riverside's Capital Punishment with Ruben Castanon, is coming off a first-round knockout of Victor Correa last month.
