A pair of Region 11 youngsters are representing Team USA in Kurgan, Russia, for the Veles Cup this week.
Ruben "Dracula" Villa, a 114-pounder from Salinas Backyard B.C., and Efren Lopez, a 119-pounder from Fresno Main Event B.C., are gaining valuable international experience, although they're finding the going tough so far.
On Tuesday, the Americans faced off against Ireland, with Villa losing a decision over Gary Cully, while Lopez dropped a bout on points to Connor Burns. Here's video of both bouts:

Team USA took on host Russia on Thursday, with Lopez winning his fight by decision and Villa reportedly coming up short in a close bout. Results and video will be up later on Norcalboxing.net, so check back regularly.
