San Ardo junior featherweight Roman Morales (11-0, 6 KOs) continued his impressive early run as a pro, flustering Alexis Santiago (11-3-1, 5 KOs) of Phoenix with his power and ring generalship en route to a unanimous decision win at Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez Friday night.

Morales consistently landed the harder shots, flooring Santiago for the first time in his career in the third round with an expertly placed right uppercut on the inside as Santiago missed with a left hand.  Although Santiago would heed trainer Roger Mayweather's advice and continued to stay aggressive as the bout progressed, Morales maintained control, especially in the final three stanzas.

With longtime trainer Rodolfo Tapia looking on, Morales' impressive body assault and ability to switch between orthodox and southpaw have made him a prospect to watch, not only in the region, but on a national level.

Official scores were 80-71 twice and 79-72 for Morales.  Here's video of the fight, which was posted online Bad Left Hook's Ryan Bivins, one of the outstanding young curators of the sport.  Follow him on Twitter (@sweetboxing) and check out his blog HERE.
