The Fresno PAL and Aleman Boxing will host the third annual U.S. Independence Day Boxing Championships at the Aleman Gym in Fresno this Saturday at 1 p.m.  The card is stacked with up to 25 amateur bouts, featuring debuts from fighters ages eight to 30 and appearances from some of Central California's most talented Junior Olympians.

Fresno PAL's Isidro Ochoa, who recently captured the 2012 Junior Olympic national title at 110 pounds, and 101-pound Region 11 J.O. champ Conrad Rendon of Aleman, are scheduled to see action.  The tournament will serve as the final warm-up before the prestigious Desert Showdown in Indio and the National Junior Golden Gloves in Mesquite, Nev.

Ringside tickets can be purchased this week at the Aleman Boxing Gym for $25.  All proceeds will go to the two host youth teams.  Last year's show won the People's Choice award for Amateur Event of the Year in Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's 2011 Northern California Boxing Awards.
