Valdivia is one win away from a National PAL title belt.

Region 11 sent three boxers to Saturday's finals at the National PAL in Toledo, Ohio.

In a 123-pound Open semifinal, Gary Salazar defeated New York's D'Andres Hockerson, 36-21.  The Fresno native meets Florida's Dennis Galarza for the bantamweight title belt.

Joining him will be Open 165-pounder Daniel Valdivia, who outpointed Georgia's Carlos Monroe via tiebreaker following an 18-18 tie.  The Bakersfield product takes on New York's Peter Reyes for middleweight top honors.

119-pound Efren Lopez has already advanced to the Junior Olympic division final against Ohio's Duke Ragan.
