The Novato Boxing Club will be holding their 15-year anniversary celebration fundraiser today from 5-8 p.m. According to owner Suzie Howard, there will be live boxing, kickboxing, a potluck, and a 50/50 raffle. For admission, please bring a dish to share or any donations will be accepted.
All proceeds benefit the club, which is a nonprofit that relies on the kindness of donors. Travel expenses for national tournaments can be tough to keep up with, and ultimately limit gyms who can't afford to attend as many as they would like.
Novato B.C. has seen the rise of Rudy Macedo, who recently won the prestigious National Adidas Tournament at Oxnard PAL.
“A lot of programs got cut, but we had been saving money so [we] are O.K. for now,” Howard told the Novato Advance.
