Gary Salazar continued his torrid pace at the AIBA Youth World Championships in Yerevan, Armenia, as he stopped Iraq's Sahm Qarrar Al-Ezirej in the third round of their 123-pound clash. The Fresno native now moves on Tuesday's quarterfinals to face Russia's Magomedrashid Dzahabrailov.
"Well it was a little tougher then I expected," Salazar said. "The guy was no sack. He was one of those fighters who came to win, but I was able to break him down with pressure and staying on his chest all three rounds. I was constantly hitting him to the body and chest, and then I was able to stop him after three 8-counts, one in each round."
