Region 11's Gary Salazar has landed in Yerevan, Armenia, and will be representing Team USA in Yerevan, Armenia, for the AIBA Youth World Championships. Boxers ages 17-18 are eligible for the tournament, which will take place at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex.
Salazar, a 123-pound bantamweight from Fresno, will compete in his first bout on Thursday against an opponent to be determined. The Central Valley native is hoping to close a banner year in style, having won the National PAL last month.
