Mexican Jorge Silva (18-2-1, 14 KOs) has replaced countryman Cosme Rivera as the opponent for unbeaten Japanese welterweight Yoshihiro Kamegai (21-0, 18 KOs) on Oct. 6 at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.

Kamegai-Silva will serve as the 10-round main event that will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net.  In the 10-round lightweight co-feature, former world champion Jorge Linares (52-17-3, 35 KOs) of Venezuela takes on former world title challenger Hector Velazquez (52-17-3, 35 KOs) of Mexico.

Junior middleweight Hugo Centeno (15-0, 8 KOs), who recently made a cameo in Northern California on the Robert Guerrero-Selcuk Aydin undercard, is slated to appear.  In addition, highly touted middleweight Chris Pearson (5-0, 4 KOs) and junior middleweight Daquan Arnett (7-0, 5 KOs) will fight on the show.

Several local prospects round out the 10-bout card.  Out of Sacramento, exciting featherweight Guy Robb (9-1, 4 KOs) and junior featherweight John Abella (2-0, 1 KO) fight in separate bouts.  Robb introduced himself to boxing fans worldwide earlier in the year with his Fight of the Year candidate against Joel Diaz Jr. on Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” series.

Undefeated San Francisco junior welterweight Jonathan Chicas (7-0, 3 KOs) is slated to take the ring along with a pair of pro debutants—2011 National PAL lightweight bronze medalist Andy Vences of San Jose and Salinas-based lightweight Preston Freeman, who will also meet separate foes.

As far as an historical angle is concerned, Don Chargin, in his 61st year in the business, will return to the site where he staged a plethora of memorable cards.  Over the last five decades at the Memorial Auditorium, a lengthy list of future stars or world champions have competed on the Hall of Fame promoter’s bills, including Tony Lopez, Loreto Garza, Diego Corrales, Richard Savala, Joey Lopes, Willie Jorrin, and in recent years, Oscar Larios’s brutal 12-round war with Israel Vazquez.

Chargin, who is promoting this particular event with Paco Presents and Golden Boy in association with Jorge Marron Productions, plans to honor his former fighters between bouts during the Oct. 6 event.

Ticket prices are $20, $35, $45, and $60 and can be purchased at the Sacramento Convention Center Box Office on 1301 L Street, online at tickets.com, or Paco’s Restaurant in Woodland by calling (530) 669-7946.
