Moreno Drops Decision to Sanchez in Mexico

According to a report from HG Boxing Promotions, Irma Sanchez (25-5-1, 7 KOs) maintained control of a minor flyweight world title belt by defeating former two-time world champion Carina Moreno (22-5, 6 KOs) of Watsonville by unanimous decision Saturday night in Guanajuato, Mex.

Official scores were 96-94 twice and 97-93 in favor of Sanchez.

  1. Being there first hand working the corner with Carina and Rick I was APPALLED by the decision. Irma Sanchez MAYBE won one round out of the 10 and that's a STRONG MAYBE! Being a Retired Professional Boxer myself I don't understand why a newly form sanction would put themselves in such an embarrassing situation. The people at the fights and viewing the fight from home will clearly see who the WBI champion is CARINA MORENO.
